I am installing a new Hager consumer unit. I have completly rewired the old one as this had to be done to pull the cables through the floorboards and up through the new plyboard covering. So I have some knowledge on this.
However the new Hager 16 way unit is much bigger than the current 8 way. So it does not fit in the same place as the old one.
This means the new unit is to be mounted a foot or so away from the old position.
Unfortunatly the meter tails are not long enough to comfortably reach the new consumer unit.
What is the best course of action to sort this out? I have read that an isolator may need to be fitted. Are these available for the public to buy?
If not will the REC fit it in and if so how much do they charge?
