new isar out

"We have listen to the installers and made the boiler they want" If they'd listen to the installers(service engineer) they would have stopped making boilers.

Best thing to do with an Ideal boiler is unpack it, then chuck the f*****g thing in a skip :x

couldn't agree more.

i agree the first isar,s were crap but have got much better.maybe thats why u see so little posts on them !!!

Absolutely brilliant

Customer asked me for a new boiler yesterday knowing the guy must be on some sort of invalidity benefit i told him to claim boiler through warmfront but leave it six months so they had got rid of all the sh#te isars.
So the bad news is we now have isar version god knows what .

After much deliberations with British Gas over the terms and conditions of my homecare agreement I have convinced them to replace free of charge my condemned ideal response 120 which has been a nightmare.

They replace boilers with the nearest equivalent and I have been told that it will be replaced with an Ideal Isar 35HE on Wednesday next week.

Just wondered whether there is anyway that I can check whether the replacement is one of the new models referred to in this topic or one of the old ones which seem to be problematic?

Also, they have tried to sell me a powerflush for £592 seems expensive to me? Do you recommend getting a non british gas plumber to sort?

Thank you in advance!

out of the frying pan, into the fire! Are you a glutton for punishment? Did the response "experience" not tell you that ideal boilers are crap?

Ha ha, I know tell me about it. Unfortunately I have no say in what boiler they fit and the isar is the nearest alternative. Surely it cant be that bad. Also, it is for free!

Surely not everyone thinks the isar is that bad! Please!

I assume that the issues with the old model have been rectified in the new model?

Going back to my original post, I am planning on getting the system "powerflushed" by an independent corgi registered plumber immediately after the new boiler install for much less than the £592 quoted by BG. My only concern is that BG will refuse to repair any probs in the future or ideal refuse to honour the warranty citing the fact that I did not instruct them to carry out a powerflush when it was installed. What do you reckon I should do?

Also, can anyone cheer me up with any good news about the isar?

i don't like any alu heat exchanger at all

i have a baxi 133 plus hx in the back garden, started to leak 2.5 years after fitted. baxi 105he condensing hx started leaking 18 months after fitted and a ideal isar where the trap got block by the alu oxide which leaked on to the plate heat exchanger which make that leak awell and flood out the boiler

so steel is the way to go IMO
