What is it, what cuases it and why have I got it.

It aint stress, Iam so laid back my mates carry me to the bar

Is it cuase work has slowed a little and I aint chasing me tail, Ive got too much energy, my mind aint being taxed ( though my wallet is with my lot  )

When you find let me know!.

I keep waking up in the middle of the night and struggle to get back off. :(

alcohol will make you dopey, but when it wears off you will be wide awake again

coffee (and to a lesser extent tea) and cigarettes may keep you awake

if work has eased off you may be less tired than usual

it is supposed to be better not to have a TV in the bedroom

Is the wife keeping up with her marital responsibilities?

Bright Light Therapy And Finding An Insomnia Cure
Bright light therapy can be particularly useful in the case of two out of the three main types on insomnia: "Initial" insomnia and "Late" or "Terminal" insomnia.

Initial Insomnia
If you suffer from initial insomnia (sometimes also referred to as sleep onset insomnia), your major difficulty lies in getting to sleep. Once asleep, you will often sleep reasonably well, but may find it hard to get up in the mornings.
Initial insomnia is often seen in younger people and some studies suggest that it affects about seven percent of people attending sleep treatment clinics.
In this case your body clock has shifted so that instead of telling your brain that it is time to go to sleep at say ten or eleven o'clock in the evening, it doesn't send out these signals until perhaps one or two o'clock in the morning.
Similarly, when your body clock should be telling your brain to get up at seven or eight in the morning, you body clock is still set for sleep and won't be sending out the necessary wake up signals until about ten or eleven o'clock in the morning.
To re-adjust the body clock bright light therapy is best used in the morning to get you up and going, and its use over a period of several days will gradually move your body clock back to coincide with your normal sleeping routine.

Late or Terminal Insomnia
If you suffer from late (or terminal) insomnia, your main problem is waking too early in the morning. Normally, getting to sleep presents little difficulty, but you wake after a relatively short period of insufficient sleep.
In this case your body clock is set too early telling you to go to sleep before it is time to do so and similarly telling you to get up far too early.
In the case of late insomnia light therapy needs to be applied during the early evening to re-adjust your body clock and, again, using it consistently over a period of several days will move your body clock back to coincide with your normal sleeping routine.

However, I think JohnD's question has merit. "Is the wife keeping up with her marital responsibilities?"

It aint stress,
A possibility you may have stress without knowing it, I have got high blood pressure, even though I feel fine I got to do something about it. When I used to do shiftwork, I always beat the alarm clock as it's on the back of my mind, I suppose that is stress as well.

Do you go on holiday, if so, do you sleep well then?

I do a lot of the cooking and washing in our house.

Maybe that's why Mrs Secure does a lot of complaining?

You're making a fundamental mistake! If you do something badly enough then she will refuse to let you try it again.

Works for me  How else do you think I've so much time on my hands to stay on here??

All these posts about insomnia, Oh Dear!

If I was you, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

My insomnia is caused by two things. One having our dogs in the bedroom at night and the second the other half's snoring. God it's awful. I already wear foam earplugs but even then I can still hear her.

I feel sorry for people who snore but I feel even sorrier for those that don't and their partners do!.

My missus snores and I wear ear plugs. She sometimes complains about having a bad night, but its just that I have elbowed her during it! :)
I also snore

I just sit by the phone, waiting for Noseall to ring...that normally sorts it for me.
