White T &E lighting cable.

Do shops sell this off the roll or is it only grey as I need 4 metres.

Also, any tips when installing as they are both red cables inside and I need to know that the live is attached to the right one.

BTW, I need white as a couple of feet will be on show unfortunately.

Both red cores inside new T+E? Where are you getting it from?

Any twin and earth you purchase for lighting should be standard colours, blue and brown.

In order to keep a track on switch wires, lives, neutrals etc you will have to bell them out to ascertain which is to be used for which task then mark them at either end with the correct coloured sleeving or electrical tape.

White twin and earth these days is of the Low Smoke & Fume type, so you won't find it on the shelves at B&Q, and I doubt you'll get cut lengths at a wholesalers either.

I've got a roll of white (LSF) 3 core & earth in the lockup you can have 4 metres of if you'd like...

I wish nowhere sold it as its a bloody pain to work with! Use grey and paint it with tipex. (just kidding!)

White, grey or sky-blue-pink, it makes no odds - exposed T/E always looks worse than putting it in trunking or conduit.

This is what I am trying to do :

That wire to feed the light comes out of the wall and then across the box gutter which is plastic cladded. Its this 2 foot of wire which will be on show.

It then will reach the trunking which I will run against the roof bar and onto the light.
It looked naff in trunking as it will go across for 1 foot then down 6 inches and then across another foot to meet the trunking

White flex could be used, and will be available in small lengths from B&Q etc.

Whether that looks any better is another matter.

you ever been to "mezenine" or whatever it's called now.. it's a club near the ground and in the shadow of the incinerator tower..

anyway.. I helped wire that.. and was solely responsible for wiring the DJ booth power..
the firm I was working for forgot about the DJ booth until about 4pm the last day...
club was opening at about 8, finished wiring the 5 or 6 double sockets behind it at about 7:30....
I had Boy George standing over my shoulder keep asking me how much longer I was going to be... nice guy.. ( he was the opening night DJ for some reason.. )
