Rangers and celtic should be banned.

Why should the EPL allow Rangers and Celtic into out PL??
Didn't say they should/would :p

Mind you, once the Sky gravy train money is taken elsewhere and the Drogbas - Ronaldos - Rubhinos - Torres - Fabregas etc follow follow it out the door ........... who knows.

t****r . never been to liverpool then, dont kid yourself it doesnt exist within english footbal

There are still Orange parades held in Liverpool, things are not as extreme as they used to be but there is still an undercurrent of religious prejudice.

Also republican parades in the city as well

And what's that got to do with football, any parades in liverpool are irrelevant to most people, apart from the traffic delays they cause.

There seems to be a lot of jealous jocks on this thread, although christ only knows why you'd be jealous of the premier league.

Hi, mate. I was talking about the club, not certain morons that football seems to attract. I am quite certain there is a fanatical sectarian element supporting each club. Both institutions want shot of them.

The IRA pish is political not sectarian, however spew inducing.
Hun is not sectarian.
The only time I have heard Celtic fans sing about killing (personally) it was a catholic they were directing it at.

Kirkgas - I should've made it clearer I was only referring to the religious aspect of this discussion. Child abuse at a feeder-club did not enter into my head.

I was at Celtic Park for the last 0-0 game, and I assure you, you would not have heard any contentious singing from the Celtic end. They hardly made a peep.

If you would like a rundown of what ditties the Gers support were belting out, I can offer a detailed account as I was sat in amongst them.

The Celtic away support is a different story, judging by the 'Ra crap you hear on't telly.

In short, Rangers and Celtic should not be banned, cretins should.

Take it easy lads

If they want rid of the bigots why don't they get rid of the sectarian symbols like the tricolour, change the colour of their kit, as for the IRA not being sectarian how many members of the IRA have been protestant?Hun is an abusive name for protestants.

Vinty;

Why should either team change their colours or fly different flags? Please explain how that would change a bigot's mind.

The Union flag, bad? How?

Irish tricolour. Ooh evil. How?

There have been several Protestant provo scum. You have the internet, look it up.

Oh, and Hun; no it is'nae.

Dangerousmouth.
It was only meant to be a ten year missionary posting, to try and educate the natives.
But it is turning out to be far more involved job due to the limited intelligence of individuals such as yourself, but i will persevere for the good of mankind.
Pr@ck

Are you sure your not a Celtic fan as they also have an inferiority complex

namsag keep up the missionary work in the 3rd world, and as long as you send for supplies of square sausage you will be fine

No problem with the union flag as it is the flag of the country, the tricolour is associated with terrorism and as such attracts cranks,.

As for protestants in the IRA, exceptions don't make the rule, if you look up the internet i think you could find that there have been more Scots and English involved with the IRA than protestants, the balcombe street bombers had scottish members(probably celtic supporters) another one is Michael Dixon tried to blow up british soldiers in Germany, John Stevenson head of the official IRA was a cockney.

Changed my mind about posting.....How can you respond to the likes of the above, laughable !!!

By the way Vinty were the dozen or so arrested for marching through the streets last week to attack an innocent Catholic man in his own home and subsequently and systematically kick him to death within his own four walls then proceed to beat the living s**t out of his wife of the same opinions and mantra as yourself.....I do not differentiate between either of the political divides when it comes to vile acts of unimiganinable abominations.
I bet their tatoos of the flag of the union were symbols of freedom and unity wherby the tri colour flying in the street of the dead man was a symbol of terrorism that deserved to be punished by this man being kicked to his death !!!

Violence from any section of the community is to be condemned, but wrightly or wrongly the Irish Tricolour in N.Ireland is perceived by some people as the flag of the IRA.

What has always tickled me is the obsessional lenghts both communities will go to to affiliate themselves to their particular persuasion.
The vast majority of the South do not want the North to be reunited with the south hence why Sinn Fein command about 3% of the popular vote and the protestant biggots dressed like John Bull in order to profess some misguided afilliation to Queen and country are quite simply still perceived as Paddies by their compatriots in the Uk.
You would imagine they would all find some common ground and just get on with life.
As for football thuggery, Celtic supporters are probably the best behaved in Britain when it comes to travelling abroad,.
Rangers.....Manchester last season say no more.

oh i wonder what team you support, i'm not completely sure of the numbers who were there but there were many many Rangers fans who were there who did not do anything wrong, and i think Manchester police wanted to/have spoken to about 50 Scottish Rangers fans so it hardly makes us all thugs.
its the same as a couple of years ago when a plane coming back from a celtic away game had to be redirected because of thuggery, turns out it was only 4-5 idiots

It's difficult to find common ground with catholics in Ireland IMO.
The protestant community is under constant attack.
Last Friday I was awoken to the sound of what I thought was fireworks in the local village at 1:00am.
It kept getting louder and when I got up to take a look I was horrified to see that the local Orange hall about 1/4 mile away from my home was blazing.
I was the second 999 dialler.
Needless to say it burnt to the ground. The members have to pick up the pieces now and attempt to re-build it with the constant fear that the hall will come under attack again.
This is only one amongst hundreds that have been attacked in recent times.
Some halls being destroyed and re-built many times at huge cost and financial burden.
Peace???
What peace?
