Since when does that mean it was installed correctly and working fine?
The 100 can be open vented. As the combi and heat only are essentially the same boiler, it can be argued that the combi can be used on open vent system.
I thought you could still have an open vented 100 combi, clearly not looking through the manual.

The combi manual says sealed primary only.

Last boiler I worked on had a faulty flue, faulty condensate, faulty bypass, no bonding on gas or water, system not flushed, controls wired up wrong, cylinder installed wrong, system not balanced, and the "UFH" was a 15 mm pushfit pipe in the 2m2 showerfloor without a manifold.
Other than that it was ok.Client did mention he was somewhat disappointed with the performance of his 30-odd kW boiler.
The only thing that surprises me is how some installations are completely and utterly effed up, and still work for years without people realising that there is something wrong.
Last boiler I replaced had been running on constant since the early 90's. Custard assumed that the light off on the timer meant the boiler was off as well.
