have you been honest with your customer and told them that you havent done one before ?, its not really fair to gain your experience at your customers expense, they will have to live with your first "attempt" and may not be able to afford to put right your mistakes, take bens advice and work for a company, that way you can gain experience without ripping people off
You have to start somewhere and companys dont take on new rgis. I am new to gas work but i am studying all the time and learning everyday i dont need negative advice

To be honest I think that your being a new RGI is really your problem. The main reason companies won't take you on is because you've "learned" the trade over the Internet, and to any self-respecting company this "qualification" is worth less than the muck on my boots. If you want respect you'll need to spend time at college and get a proper City&Guilds NVQ qualification.

That "lot" does not appear to include spelling, or much about the basics of ch systems, and not even the beginning of ethics.

should take a few hours.

£350 profit

minus

pipe,fittings,flux,solder,pipe clips................................................

no system clean

any inhibitor?

any boiler interlock?

you must be fishing

A few hours!? Should take all day, at least, sometimes more. Have you included cleaning and flushing the system in your price? Do TRVs need changing/adding? Is there a roomstat, and if so is it in working order? If it isn't present/working, have you included installation of this in your price?

Its called fast track muggles its the way of the world. I didnt just sit there on my computer and learn this it was on the job training and assessments, it took me a year with funding the course and work. I am still studying now currently doing boiler repair got to get ready for this frosty winter and all these call outs muggles.

nobody mentioned a power flush, fannybaws

a "system clean" will be a requisite of the manufacturers warranty

and that £20 for inhibitor has come out of your £350 profit, btw us RGIs
pick up that stuff for £7

You must be a genius.
Fresh from the internet course, and already you are faster than any of us.
I feel for your (imaginary) customers, although they should be aware of the fact that if you buy cheap, you get cheap.
