If winter comes, can spring be far behind(Shelley)
Can't fail to notice the nights are drawing out along with lighter mornings now,out side the back window a Blackbird has started to sing along with a Song Thrush.Do the anticipation of longer days fill you with hope or dread of outside work ie gardening, house painting etc,me I look forward to it.

I prefer dark nights by a warm fireside.
Problem is the fire is not that good at heat output so we have to make do with central heating.
So romantic. NOT!

Besides, dark rainy nights keep the kids off the streets.

Born into a farming family, my life (until I left the profession) was ruled by the seasons,I love the onset of spring.

Even though the seasons no longer affect my work, I never fail to be cheered up by sunny afternoons, and longer days this time of year :D

We were driving home yesterday from our shopping trip and ran into a small snow storm. We had to drive over a small hill (800m) close to us through 5- 10cm of snow. Going up was OK but coming down was tricky. I think springs a long way away for us.

Definitely fills me with joy!

I wish that winter was a month long, with 30 days of heavy snow, then 11 months of 25+ degrees summer and 10pm sunsets.

I don't get too bothered by the weather but I get bored of grey skies. Never get bored of blue skies or snow though.

I've already started thinking up all the things I need to do before barbecue season starts in earnest. :!:

we have barbecues all year round, her way of getting out of the cooking. and we make our own charcoal for free.

work outside all year and i love spring, great feeling seeing the new life coming into the garden. Just wish it would bloody well hurry up!

Read in the paper the weekend that the summer migrants ie swallows and the like are arriving in southern Spain so as they say time and tide wait for no one, the earth is slowly tilting for the Northern hemisphere to recieve its qouta of warmth.
