Hi I need to buy a quality router, budget approx £150 can anyone recommend best makes to go for, also which is the best place to buy decent tools from?

where no doubt your money may go a hell of a long way in buying something that was itro many 100s of pounds and you could get for a song.

I'm laying some reclaimed maple flooring. Initially I was thinking of buying a biscuit jointer to butt cut ends together. However someone suggested a bench router might be more useful. I need some kit to create tonge and groove on cut planks and secondly to clean out any adhesive on ends. Just thought router would be more useful. Any other thoughts please.

if you never plan to cut worktops or make your own doors then a 1/4 inch will be easier to use in hand
as you mention table then you realy need a 1/2" router
iff most off your work is going to be freehand then a 1/2" is rather a large beestie for the job
