Have we got time before 6th May to get this off the ground?

i can see the benefit of a combined Europe these days as China, India etc get stronger... individual countries in Europe would stand no chance in a modern day war with these emerging powers... and what if we were to fall out with America..? So forming a Super country is beneficial in those terms....

But being railroaded by Brussels is not acceptable.

I go back to my original post.... (please start a new thread if you want to discuss EU treaties...?) surely we must redesign the way we do politics in this countries if we want to stop all of these dissatisfied discussion.... too many people in this country feel disenfranchised and let down by the very people they voted in....surely we need a different option?

We should start by recalling the troops from foreign soil and use the naval forces to see off all foreign eu trawlers on Irish and UK fishing waters.
Bomb and sink them if necessary.
Churchill wouldn't hesitate!

I'm starting to get weary saying this.... but my theory is, it's not about what you say... or what Gord, or Cam or Clegg says, but it should be what the mathematical majority of the people in this country say....

but it should be what the mathematical majority of the people in this country say....

Well you and the other 15 million people who can't be bothered to get off their backsides on polling day to cast their vote are hardly helping!

If you don't vote then you got no say, so stop moaning.

Get lost you patronising idiot... you give me a choice of a/b/c and i want d... why should i choose a,b or c?

i live in a democracy, a place where abstaining is a right, and people are allowed to openly discuss politics... so don't tell me i can't be bothered...

why should i choose a,b or c?

Because its the only choice you have got, you muppet.

you started this nonsense by suggesting i couldn't be bothered to get off my backside, yet i have obviously thought about this quite a lot.
However, I'm not going to get into a low level mental brawl with a slug like you.

and you're wrong about it being the only choice. Well actually, i can vote for any party that stands... and i can decide not to vote. So i could stand as the 'peoples revolutionary popular front' or i can burn my voting slip in front of the polling booth.

I've never studied politics (you can probably tell!) but i'm starting to think we live in an elected dictatorship

yet i have obviously thought about this quite a lot

You admit to knowing nothing about politics and then say you have "thought" about "this" quite a lot.
"This" presumably being politics
Your just another idiot that moans from the sidelines with no understanding of the current system.

Nordio, what is your view of "conscientious objectors"? After all, a fair old few of them were prepared to go to jail or the gallows for their belief that we and they shouldn't take part in a conflict.

You're just a trouble maker... and i aint rising....

i said i've never studied politics, but i never said i know nothing about it.

and you say i have no understanding of the current system? i want to change the current system, whereas you just have no understanding period!!

Where can I vote for a benevolent dictatorship? That's what I want, and no subsequent opportunities for elections.

unfortunately, if you dont vote, then you are effectively voting for the government, because in the event of a hung parliament the government gets first refusal to carry on.

The electoral system, in respect of the way it works, isnt about voting for the party you like, in reality its about voting for or against the government. If you want them to stay in, vote for them, if you want rid, vote for the next largest party. If you vote any other way, you effectively vote to keep the government in power. If you dont like the next largest party after they have been in power 5 years, then you throw them out at the 2014 election. Thats the way it works.

The only way you'll change it is to become the government, via the current system. If no one voted at the next election, the government wins by default.

Thanks Lincs... you're so right... and kind of the end of my 'argument'. I realise i'm barking up a tree that doesn't exist. But i disagree so much with the government, and the next big party and the next one.. then you're amongst the loony parties... i really wish they'd all get together and 'want' to make britain better.. and not worry whether they're red or blue....

Trouble is, they think that their way is the best way. Bit like different religious beliefs - ultimately they all think there's a god and possibly some kind of life afterwards; the problem is that they all think that their's is the only way of achieving success.
