Braided pipes? Good, Bad or Ugly?

I guess everyone works differently :D

yeh some people do the job properly and some people bodge it. Your getting given good advice by a pro, I would advise taking it. Thats what you came for right?
In regards to your original post, there's alot of dodgy non WRAS approved foreign flexis knocking around the Uk which do fail a little to easily.
Save a penny now, spend a pound later

Absolutely why I came here but I can't accept the first response I receive as gospel, I greatly appreciate the help provided by 'Seco' but for all I know, hes as amateur as me :D

Cool thanks for that, these are B&Q and so I would expect to be approved by a standard, I'll double check.

Thanks for the help.

it's a bodge.
thats what the seal is designed for.
the threads designed to be able to tighten something.

Fair enough, I've never heard the use of PFTE tape described as a bodge but I guess everyone works differently :D

The seal is created by the rubber washer being held against the bottom of the tap tail. If you're needing to have PTFE on the thread to stop leakage from the thread, then you're doing it wrong! :P

Lol you know what I mean mate, forums can be a nightmare for so-called experts regardless of their post count, but I do genuinely appreciate your help.

Dont like them where they are seen, dont mind under sink units out of site if fitted correctly, hate to see them on toilets particularly, very amatuer in my veiw.
