Shoddy work giving tradesmen a bad name.

A little off subject but driving me mad.
RB2004 keeps quoting "lol"which Ive seen before on this site.
Please don't mock this old timer . But what the hell does it mean?

Laugh out loud

And its annoying when some people seem to have to use it at the end of every sentence.

You don't get plastic gas0pipe because it is legally prohibited, as, in the case of fire it MELTS

It's still the reason why gas-pipes ( presumably up to the flexible connection ) have to be metal.

After reading all this thread, thought I'd put my 2p in from my own DIY PoV (I'm in no way a trade, Motherboards and harddrives are my trade!)

Personally I have no major problems with plastic and have used it myself and will use it again both for rads and general plumbing. I DO have a major gripe with all the fittings mind, why so bloomin bulky??? But I also don't have issues with copper (well except the price) and was taught at an early age how to prep a joint properly. (Dad was a plumber)

If on the other hand we had true Pex as someone has mentioned already and seen on the newer American/Canadian shows (I'm sure you know the one's I mean) I honestly think peoples opinions of plastic piping would change. From what I've seen and a good friend now living over there has told me, there's none of these stupidly bulky connectors and working with it is simplicity in itself but it also allows copper/plastic to blend together.
