I have removed two old fireplaces from the living rooms and want to close the openings up and wallpaper over. Just wondering, is there anything special I need to do or would simply battening and attaching plaster board is all that’s needed?

Stud and plasterboard will do. Tape and feather out joint. Size or seal plasterboard before sticking wall paper. Fit hit and miss air brick just above skirt line to vent flue

I'm assuming, I wouldn't be able to paper over the air brick and it would be visible?

What size brick should be used?
And any chance of a link for the item?
