Thinking of freezing both vertical and horizontal copper pipes to do some work my question is once I've applied jacked and spray it says cut pipe 250ml away but where i do I cut the pipe above or beloww the jacket or left or right of the jacket if this makes any sense  [/i]

Freezing a pipe and not sure what side is 'live'???? This job maybe to much for you . As said above what are you doing? You might be best in draining down.......it's a lot safer.

Need to remove one Rad completely as don't want it where it is and also need to reconnect hot water pipe distribution pipe from the cylinder back to the vent pipe as someone has cut these and capped vent pipe

TBH not knowing what side to cut sounds as if you are a wee bit out of your confort zone, and the comment someone has capped the vent scares the sh1t out of me, perhaps in this instance best to bite the bullet and get a real plumber in to sort things out so that your house stays in the post code it was built in

then the live side is towards the main heating pipes

cut on the rad side of the jacket (tip get everything ready before you start ie tools within hands reach fittings pipe cutter wrenches)

as for the hw pipe freeze as close to the vent as poss vent pipe is your live side

Both sides are live - there is pressure in the pipes on either side of the rad. If you turn off the rad valves then you can drain the rad, take it off the wall, bung the vent and cold feed and depressurise through the radiator valves once the rad is gone. Keep a pair of 15mm push fit end caps handy just in case it comes gurgling out of the pipes, or if you choose to go and drink tea / answer the phone etc.

A bit more info about the job and what you want to achieve might help.
