Jailing him, Justice Stephen Irwin ordered that the video clips be preserved so the parole board could watch them before he is eventually considered for release.
Now that makes sense. Things get forgotten after 24 years. Sounds to me like the judge wanted to lock the effer up forever but he has to go by the guidelines (even though most folk think the sentencing guidelines stink!). Good on the Judge.

So why hasn't this story been given the same gravitas as baby P? after all, it's remarkably similar....

and i don't want this guy locked up for 20 years or so...i say lock him up for one week.

.. And he exits his cell after a week and heads towards the gallows.... no?

What would make someone to do that? Inbreeding? A bang on the head? FILMING abuse? But getting away with it? As I'm against hanging, the evidence is overriding that..hang him high, weirdo. The evidence concludes the case. He hasn't been defined as mentally deranged at the time of the act, or since? WHY? Surely you would be mental to abuse a child? or anyone else?

In a case like this where the defendant has incriminated himself beyond any possible doubt, hanging is appropriate.

Agreed. They are so often wrong, so this needs to be pointed out as good practice!

Normally I'm against the death penalty but in this case I agree
And Normally would be??

There are a lot of cases I could think of, and I doubt it if they re- offend. :D

Normally I'd suggest that people can be put under immense pressure, or tortured, so a conviction that is rock solid, is later overturned, and even this case could be argued that the abuse didn't lead to the death of the child, as that wasn't filmed, afaik, the child could be abused, and filmed, then fell, or died in the night naturally. But compelling evidence to suggest otherwise. So easy to point the finger, but there is that 0.0001% that they might be innocent, and plenty totally innocent people have been killed, or held in prison for a long time, only to be proved that their conviction was wrong. And you can never justify killing an innocent person.

He is far from innocent, and you may well change your veiw once it's someone close to you thats the victim. ;)

I don't know what a veiw is? But I have been to court that maybe my brother was murdered or not, so I do know a victim. And the inquest recorded an open verdict, so maybe he was murdered? Have you any evidence to close the enquiry? So I'm pretty close to the victim. So think before you post.
