Hi there. I have recently moved into a new house. The boiler is in the kitchen in a cupboard and is by all accounts an Ariston Micro Genus 27 MFFI. The boiler, we think was installed when the house was built approximately 10 years ago. It is very noisy and seems to fire up all the time. we have budgeted for replacing it as was strongly recommended by the surveyor. The house is smallish with two bedrooms, living/dinning room a small closet toilet downstairs and small bathroom upstairs. there are 6 radiators in the house the largest of which is a 600x1400 double in the living room.
i'm looking to replace the boiler. the current dimensions are 700hx400wx300d
my plumber friend has had a look and come up with an Ideal Independent C combi.
but rummaging through the other forum posts i'm not getting such a good vibe about Ideal boilers generally. and this model seems to be a bit out of date also.
the most important thing really is reliability and i don't mind spending a little bit more in order to get it. (£600+)
From the other posts, i have noticed that the most recomended small boilers are Remeha Avanta or a Vaillant of some kind although not sure if these will fit...
i understand that the reliability of any boiler is mostly down to installation but it would be good to get something that is well recommended firstly and also in the event of it breaking down that the parts are easily accessible and fittable.
any advice would be really helpful
i hope i have given you all the information i can
thank you all very much in advance for your help
best Graham
