Hi Guys

Can I ask a bit of advice. BG have been out 4 times in the last 10 days trying to get our Baxi Bahama working. Its on a Home Care agreement

Replaced a PCB, flow switch and divertor switch

It is now working

They are now saying its reached the end of its life and I should get a new boiler

Is that a fair comment - or is it just because they are losing money on the repairs ??

Any views ?

Cheers

Steve

If you want them to keep fixing it they will. It's not the best boiler in the world so if you can afford to change it, do it.

Phone baxi and ask their opinion ! bet they dont say the same thing. BG just fed up of repairing it, can't blame em for trying ! Keep it if you want, nothing bg can do, they can get parts for it, you have a contract, they have a legal obligation to keep repairing it.

Simple yes they can still get the bits but even brand new this boiler was one of the biggest pile of sh#te thrown together and have always been unreliable. So if your prepared for the inconvience of it breaking down possible in the middle of a cold snap keep it.
But if you dont want the hassle change it

The guy has probably worked on that many and had that much grief from customers he is just giving you an honest opinion

Isn't this the boiler that lost them so many customers, they brought out the Platinum with 5 years cover to win us all back ?

Thanks guys - am guessing a replacement will cost us a couple of grand though :(

Any suggestions about a suitable replacement ?

Thanks for your help

Steve

vaillant ecotec or anything other than an ideal, baxi or cheapy makes.compared to ure boiler u will have more reliability choosing either a vaillaint or worcester cdi.the prblem with those baxi's is they were just poorly designed, around my area there isnt 1 that lasts longer than a year without breaking down
