Viessmann vs Intergas vs Atag

I was up at Atmos last week , the atmos is a slight variation of the Intergas & I have to say it is an impressive peice of kit (atmos/Intergas)

There is 1 case of a heat exchanger problem , but that was due to a manu/ casting problem ! although we have not fitted any at the moment (mehran has ) we will be going down that route , Why ? reliability !!!

Although having looked at both we have decided that the Atmos for various reasons suits us better !

Changing the subjest slightly..... I have never installed any of these boilers, if a customer wants a top end boiler I fit a vaillant.... are these in the same class or better, am I missing out?

If your system water is that bad, it may be better to replace your radiators at the same time especially if they are more than 20 years old. Powerflushing is often money for old rope and not totally effective when you consider the cleaning part is only ongoing for a matter of minutes. You are better to put the typical £500 cost towards new radiators and then leave a chemical cleaner in for 12 hours with the system running at max temp.

I know and trust my installer, who has fitted a number of Kestons without any bad feedback, but he does not do much service work and so may not be aware of ongoing problems. I do think he may have an above average task in cleaning our system though.

Please don't take this the wrong way , it's not intended to be rude but...... a lot of guys won't even touch a Keston, let alone install one. If he is not aware of any problems with them he is either incredibly inexperienced or not telling you the whole truth.......or a mix of both...

I think most people are missing out by not taking advantage of the ATAG A325ec. Its a combi with a gas saver all in one for less than £1000! The zenex gas saver which fits to ravenheaps, baxis etc.. is about £500 asfaik?? and you still have to buy a less than average boiler to fit it onto.
The bonus of course is that the ATAG boilers are a quality build with a very robust heat exchanger. I don't deny the Intergas and Viessmann boilers are equally as good in quality, reliability, but 60% of my ATAG installs are eco combis, simply because its an easy sell. The most efficient combi in the UK, fact. btw I think Vaillants, especially now 5yrs since the first release of the ecotecs and some good mods, is one of the best boilers around, but things that put me off: standard gtee only 2yrs, WC controls and modulation controls are all in house and stupidly complicated, flue and accessories are over priced.

Few months ago a certain boiler was pictured in the gas installer trade mag , it was taken out because it was ID caseing burnt through ID , not an isolated incident apparently , boiler looked like a Kes??? to me ( some of us ) only reason any one would fit a keston would be for flueing purposes ?

How ever Keston are now useing a rebadged Ideal Logic , that uses the same flue set up !

Rumour has it that there has not been a case of an Ideal Logic heat exc failure / leak well I was talking to an installer from Sheffield last thursday up in Daventry & he had one !!

the intergas can fully condense on hot water as well. though I don't think they claim to be the most efficient.

i just dont think cast Alu is suitable. the likes of ideal, WB and baxi really put me off Alu for a lot of years.

bet ideal would not like any one knowing about that

only fit viessmann myself, really like them, their heat exchanger has the biggest bore on the market and they have two models the 100 and 200, they only sell the 100 here (make of that what you will ie were cheap skates) 200 is a class act, know a lot on here rave about atag and intergas and looking forward to the day out at intergas in may to have a poke around, major questioning for me on intergas is limescale which round my way attacks you as it comes out the tap

Recently installed an Intergas at home, well impressed so far.

Limescale was my biggest concern, but as we know, Combimate etc and it shouldn't be a problem.

I fitted the Hydroflow, whether they are any good or not I don't suppose we'll know for a year or two. ;)

Vaillant are middle range. It is like saying an up market Ford is a Lexus.

ATAG and Intergas I would go for - both Lexus.

Is it a combi boiler?
