He's a bit full on but I don't think he's racist. Racism usually born from ignorance and one would tend to generalise because of ones ignorance.
For instance to dislike all Muslims simply because you 'have never met a good one' is generalising that all Muslims are not very nice people based on little or no knowledge of what being a Muslim actually means. Just as not all western priests rape young children.
I suppose if you were talking about a baked bean you could generalise that the rest of the beans in the tin are orange and possibly be bang on the money, and if you were wrong I doubt anyone would really give a toss.
