Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regards finishing/treating a newly laid unfinished solid oak floor - which is the best product to use?

I have been looking at bona hardwax oil and also osmo polyx oil - can anyone explain what is the difference between the two?

Any advice would be very helpful! :D

Thanks, Teebird

Not a huge difference as far as I can tell.
The Bona dries slightly quicker than the Osmo, (4 hours v's 8 hour claims) but the Osmo seems slightly thicker. They both smell and look similar so I suppose it comes down to the cost or availability.

Cheers

And then there are Blanchon and Saicos HardWaxOils - all doing the same job. ;)

As tall-tone says: down to costs (based on how much coverage per sq m you get out of it - Saicos wins in that respect)

Fiddles would not be my first choice - too little solid matter in the HWO (as contacts tell me: looks great when just applied, but turns very dull very quickly)
