Is there a place where pre-enjoyed gas boilers go to die?

Looking for a front case for an Ideal Concord WRS40 balanced flue gas boiler.... The boiler itself seems to work fine, just the case is developing a hole in the front. Gas guy suggested to patch it or get a replacement case ready for his next service. Keeping any eye out up and down the street for folks 'ugrading' but no signs as yet............

The boiler industry is mostly populated by engineers whose objective is to increase their income by doing the maximum possible which is normally to replace your boiler.

There is little demand for parts for obsolete and inefficient old boilers.

You are very lucky to have someone who is still prepared to keep your boiler going.

Your boiler is so old that no one is likely to want one so its unlikely anyone would even try to sell one on Ebay.

But if you watch Ebay you might eventually find someone selling one but then you would have the problem of collecting it from anywhere in the country.

Could always be a sign that maybe this boiler has pretty much completed its life cycle.

Tony, whilst you are more than capable of diagnosing faults you are in the minority. All the crooks in the game want to charge £1500 for a days labour fitting a new one. They can't diagnose a fault anyway (as is obvious from reading this forum).

There must be a man locally who's handy with a welder, just get a patch welded onto it and then spray it up.

I used to watch Joe 90, loved all the Supermarionation stuff.

You aren't an RGI and you aren't Joe 90. A puppet who is a muppet.

As a member of the National Piers Society, I must request that you correctly spell the word Pier!

There are about 55 piers remaining and we have voted Weston Super Mare as the Pier of the Year!

Cromer Pier is one of my favourites because it has such good shows in its theatre.
