Hello, i am currently opening up my existing external wall from 900mm to 2m in width.
I have calculated the load on the lintel from the floor and have decided that Catnic cn6xb Lintels for both skins will be sufficient.
Im just thinking if i am going to put in strongboys how easy is it going to be to get the lintel in between these and the wall in question.

I've just done this. I propped from the outside and put the lintel in from the inside so nothing interfered. That said, it was below a window so most of the load was already distributed to the sides.

i also would like my floor timbers to directly sit on the lintel. Looking at Catnic brochure it implies that they are able to allow direct floor loading. I'm assuming that is the case.

That's an internal lintel - so unless this is a knock through to a new extension you'll have to think again.

its an external wall 250mm thick knocking through into adjoining single storey utility. I was going to use 2 No lintel for this, maybe slightly overdesigned but satidsfied with this.
