The venue is going to become a wasteland, as did all the Manchester events, when they hosted the European events a few years back. How many people say, you know, I just fancy a run out of that Velodrome track..I feel the need for a swim, in this massive Olympic sized pool, but the kids don't have a play/pee pool to inhabit..and that idiot BMX rider, that was capped for gold but fell off. BMX is not even an activity, rather less a sport. It's riding a bike that is not fit for purpose.
But fortunately, the area that the event has been built on, is in fact a marshland, Stratford, so hopefully, most of the venues will have sunk in 20 years time. Will Self, on Newsnight tonight, stated the same, but the MP opposite, just came up with the same old blah blah blah....your ears turn off..

BMX bikes are fit for purpose, same as moto cross bikes and speedway bikes. I should know, used to race one and build the others.

Rhona Martin and the other members of the curling team will not have far to travel so will save you, the taxpayer (I assume), paying massive travel expenses to them. The same applies to any other scottish athletes.

I must agree the pool looked fantastic, and that inaugural dive from the 10m board hardly made a splash as the diver hit the water.
I didn't get to see that as they were still waiting for Tom Daley to turn up when I had seen it. Was it him that made the dive or a Chinese Chap?
