can i use a swit ch to feed a light?

i have a 2 gang one way switch, one to outside light and one to porch . i have fed the cables from the lights back to switch position and there is also a supply at the switch position from consumer unit. how do i connect to switch?

What type of supply from the CU?
Is it a live, neutral and earth coming into the switch - because that is what you need to get power to your outside and porch light.
It is probable that you have a live and switched live at the switch with no neutral - that will not work with your outside lights.
