Hi therekeep getting F12 up and Fh up, i have done a reset and it clears it for a while, is this a common problem? I have a Optimax 38C.

Also there is a thumping inside which wasnt there when i bought it, it is when the heating switches off to heat the water and visa versa, the gentleman who came round to repair said 'thats what they do!!!' Can you help at all. Shall i launch it off a cliff?

Regards, Rich.

I would have thought the boiler was still under it's 5 year warranty.

Or has the optimax been out for longer than that.

What did the "guy" do to solve the F12 fault?

Tony

As regards to f12 I was told to get it serviced before the feroli man would turn out otherwise I would be charged. I have since done this and it still happens... Its only a year old and the Feroli engineers seem to be pretty sh^%e... Trust me if I bought a TV for 700ish knicker and had ANY kind of trouble it would be returned!! Seems alot harder to do with a boiler...

I will get them out, but just wondered if anyone knew any magic tricks as I reckon I could a better job myself!!!!!!!

Cheers.....

f12 is a sensor/wiring fault, get it replaced and the fault SHOULD go away.fh is the syphon fill mode it means the power has been interrupted and the boiler is busy, get someone who knows what they are doing it may have a couple of faults.FH should have a couple numbers after it to denote model if i remember rightly.[/list]

Serves you right for being a tightwad; next time buy something half decent!

There has to be an exception to prove the rule!

I think the best quote was from one Ferolli Service Engineer who said that after repairing a faulty Ferolli he had to tiptoe out in case the vibration brought on another fault !

I have always found that if you install a boiler well then it has less chance of breaking down.

Better expressed the other way round!

Install any boiler badly on a dirty system and it will be very likely to break down.

Look how unreliable the Heatlines are!

The same boiler with GlowWorm on the front is more reliable!

I fitted a biasi in one of my houses 12 years ago and it's still going strong, flush it all really well ,
You can fit any boiler on a dirty system and it will break down.
