new kitchen- wiring cooker to another wall- DIY or not?

I am having a new kitchen fitted. At the moment the cooker is free standing. The new kitchen will have a built in hob and eye level oven on an adjoining wall.
Am I allowed to run a cooker cable from the existing point behind the new kitchen units and terminate the cable myself? I don’t have any problem doing it myself but is it good practice to run a cooker cable behind kitchen units and am I allowed to do it?

Yes you are allowed but it costs so much to register the work with the LABC in real terms just not worth it.

That you intend to install 'new wiring' in a kitchen - they're not interested in the 'new kitchen', as such (assuming no structural changes to the building are involved!).

I think the OP is suggesting he will leave the CCU where it is and merely extend the switched wire from the outlet plate to the new position by running it behind the units.
So, in effect, no alteration to the fixed installation.

Ah - looking back, I think you're probably right. However, whether or not the proposed work is notifiable rather depends upon what the OP meant by 'terminate it myself', particularly given that the new kitchen will have 'a built in hob and eye level oven' - in pedantic-speak, that will presumably determine whether or not it counted as alteration of the fixed wiring.

In addition, the OP obviously needs to be sure that the existing supply is adequate for the new hob+oven.

The existing cooker is on a dedicated 32 amp fuse in the fuse box. Yes indeed I just intend to remove the existing connection and extend the cable behind the new kitchen units to the hob and oven.

Just want to make sure that this is acceptable, as I don’t want to chase out the wall but either lay the cable behind the units or cleat the cable to the wall. I’m on a budget so I am trying to keep the costs down by doing this work myself, which I have no issues in doing.

When it comes to connecting the hob and oven is it acceptable to daisy chain the cables as in connecting the hob first and then running a cable from the hob to the oven or should I fit a junction box by the oven before running dedicated cables to both the oven and the hob?
