Not much to do about it other than walk away. Not worth getting in the middle of a 'domestic' for it

I used to work with the council, and had a contract to support local primary schools, to repair their broken equipment.

So I walks into a school, off my normal rota, meet the headteacher, explain why I'm there, and what I'm there for, and she suddenly had a raging fit, shouting, swearing, pushing me out the door....I've no idea what I said or done wrong.....

I'm trying to explain, I just need to fix a computer that you reported broken, she is going mental, and locking herself in her room....

My boss visited...but I never visited again...Mad witch.

Can't comment on the head's outburst, but the fact that you were sent to schools must mean that you were CRB checked and cleared :D

imagine this... you get a call from a women to come and wallpaper her front room on Saturday.. (no, not a euphomism !! ) So you turn up, unload the van, start measuring up, and a bloke turns up saying "nah mate, don't need you, do one..... i'm decorating !".... what do you do? (assuming you didn't react violently at this point !!!

But technically, you have a contract with the woman? do you have a contract? is it all about diplomacy?
ok two scenarios...

1. the woman has gone shopping.... (or fishing!)
2. the woman is around and says, "please continue.."..

Do you have a signed contract to do the work?
1) call her mobile, talk in real time or leave a message explaining the situations, if you have been asked to complete the work, get on with it.
If you feel threatened by the presence of the bloke, it's Saturday pack up and go to the pub!
2) If you feel comfortable with the situations? crack on! If not? it's Saturday pack up and...........!

This is an interesting thread, especially if you link it with the other one that the op has posted regarding what his plans are for today (prepping a room for decoration).

A conclusion that may be drawn is that Mrs Martian has decided to employ a tradesman to decorate a room, much to the annoyance of Mr Martian who intends to tell the aforementioned tradesman to sling his hook and do it himself  Thus Mr Martian is testing the water on here

That's one heck of a leap of faith. You don't need a CRB check to work on computers. You may not even need a CRB check to work in schools, per se. You may not need it to work with children while being supervised. You do need it to work unsupervised with children.

I am aware of the situation
