Tubular latch

I am replacing several internal door handles,everything fits except for the tubular latches as the hole in the door is too small.Is there some sort of cutter that will fit on a drill to slightly enlarge the holes.

You could use a slightly larger spade bit and take care, or use a holesaw. Same way, carefully, or a chisel.

I use these to enlarge holes, more control than flat bit/ hole saw which will rattle around without centre guide.

Thanks for the ideas,i think i will try the drill saws.

Trouble is he is trying to enlarge a hole from 63 to 76 mm deep.
I have those bits and cone drills but they are not much good for this job.

Once a spade bit is CAREFULLY started it will guide through.

To be fair if the question was specific we would not have had the above debate.

Posts here are always ambiguous, I took it to mean he had a different brand of latch as they vary a few mm in section. and he asked for a cutter to fit a drill to enlarge the hole.
Maybe he will enlighten us.

Well I took it initially as that hence the depths being mentioned.
Now it could be the latch spindle hole misaligned :-S
