Dwarf Joke

What difference does it make if someone is born with, develops and/or becomes disabled?
IMHO, it is somewhat desultory to refer to someone's born differences or disabilities as a "misfortune", as opposed to a physical "change" (for want of a better word) due to an accident in later life.
And you're FULLY entitled to your OPINION.
I see no need to shout those words at me Blas  We agree to disagree on this one. I'm happy to leave it there.

I'm sure it's OK if I make jokes about the Welsh sh@gging sheep, 'cos I was born there.

Surely you can't be had up for mocking yourself?

Oh no! Someone has quoted joe and now I can see his warped ramblings....

"Warped?", I hear you ask?

Yes, warped.

"Why?", I hear you ask?

Because joe is knocking people here for mocking others, yet he found it perfectly acceptable not so long ago to mock me:

It's true then - you are deaf?

C'mon, joe admit it: you're a hypocrite.

Maybe you'd also like to make fun of the fact that I have cerebral palsy?

Perhaps Joe is in that machine getting another personality downloaded ;)

If it's OK to mock people over serious issues like dwarfism, Downes Syndrome, cleft palette etc? Then is it acceptable to mock people over the colour of somebodies skin? It's not a genetic fault, it causes no harm so is that OK?

Going back to my school days there was a silly joke:

What do you call a black policeman?

A coonstable.

Is that ok as a joke? Or not? Come on guys - all those who are willing to mock a genetic fault - I'd like your point of view.

Since those little fekers kidnapped the bear in the singing ringing tree they have been fair game.

I feel compelled to add my two penneth:

I think you're struggling with your terminology a bit, Joe. A genetic fault may give rise to such conditions as dwarfism, cleft pallette, Downs Syndrome, susceptibility to cancer, etc.
But the condition itself is not considered a genetic fault. It's a Birth Defect, possibly brought about by a genetic fault, but not always, maybe not even, usually.

But to categorise a different coloured skin or racial stereotypes in the same group as birth defects is way beyond anyone's imagination.

I agree. A physical birth defect is much worse. Skin colour isn't a fault - just evolution. So why laugh at a cleft palette? If you had a child with Downes Syndrome - would you go around laughing at him/her? If you had a child that was blind - would you move the furniture around?

What do you call a man in a swimming pool with no arms or legs??

Bob.

The dwarves told Snow White they were thirsty one day, She offered to go to the shops and buy drinks for them and asked "Anyone fancy a 7up? "
