The ambi pure is more likely to explode than the plug cause any problems.

For all we know, going off that pic the bottom of the plug is blanked and the cable is secured well.
 
I have seen plugs used to connect earth straps and mats not sure I really like the idea of taking a earth connection from a 13A plug and connecting it to my wrist though. But it seems it is normal method.

I believe there is a 1M resistor in series though.
 
As long as the cable is secured inside the plug I dont see a problem and also give it 10/10 for inginueity. It also makes me think why plugs are not available with a top entry or I suppose it should be exit, as how many times does the cable exit the plug and then go straight back up to a table lamp for example? So come MK etc there could be a big market out there>

Is that such an issue? The cable is fexible for a reason.
