Communism, capitalism.

Two different labels for the same thing, a system that wants (Requires) you to work your ass off and hand your money over to "The Government" for the "Greater good".

Point of view from Slovakia from what I have seen.

Communism - Everyone had a job - Everyone was "happy" - Everyone was "contained" but there was no way "up" you just lived your life and died.

Capitalism - The richer people are even richer, the poorer even poorer, some are happy, others are unhappy, everyone has equal rights and has the opportunity to do whatever they would like to accomplish.
You live your life to whatever style/method you wish to, and die.

People are free-er in capitalism, but the system fails the people who needs the help most.

Neither one factors in resource depletion which is why both ultimately fails.

The current global financial crisis underscores the inequality, fragility and unpredictable future of the capitalist economic system. While the US government gets ready to bail out banks and financial institutions that have failed due to their reckless greed, no one is there to save the thousands of ordinary people who are about to lose their homes and life savings.

I care not one jot for the greedy financial institutions and the wreckless politicians backing them up. Sooner they go under the better.
Lets go back to basics. I take a sheep down the road to my neighbour who grows vegetables and trade the sheep for 300kg of his vegetables.
Simples.

No money changes hands and Mr greedy sitting pushing his pen gets sweet fa. I like it.

everyone has equal rights and has the opportunity to do whatever they would like to accomplish.

I would argue with that.

How come? You are free in this country to do and become whatever you would want to become, want to be a doctor? Study hard and go to Medical school.

Want to start your own erotic store? Get some capital and make a business plan.

Want to become an Art Critic? Your free to do so.
Want to dedicate your life to PETA/Greenpeace? Nobody will stop you doing so.

Want to start an Anti-goverment movement that campaigns against the current government, on you go, nobody will stop you (As long as you stick within the law)

Anybody can become or do whatever they wish to accomplish in life, hard part is getting the money for it.

Doesn't matter which race/ethnicity you are, if you are from a poor family or a rich family, the fundamental opportunities are the same.

fundamentally the opportunities are the same in reality someone from a poor background has less opportunities and chance of acquiring a high powered job/position than someone from a affluent background .

Sir Richard Branson and Sir Alan Sugar are prime examples of that, aren't they.

yes they are good examples . however look at the majority of sitting mps and cabinet members and you may see a slight advantage of being born rich.
i dont know and cant be bothered to research the numbers but i expect the vast majority of company executives and officers also had a helping hand of private schools.

Ah , the cold hand of the gym master on a warm nubile male buttock  It`s what made Britain Great .

They don't call it a 'ring' finger for nothing.

That's what your eyes do if you aren't ready.
