what is the best tool to sand down long lenghts of wood

HI can you help i have 60 lenghts of 10ft lenth x 4 inch wide and 2 inch thick planks of wood.

what is the best tool to use to sand them down i have tried one of those black & decker sanders but they vibrate to much and these planks are quite rough, i wanted to smooth them down then varnish them.

i need a tool that can get the job done quick, what tool would you recommend.

You need a planer thicknesser, local hire shop shoul have them.

i have the ryobi 4" belt sander its a great beast and would tackle you timber no probs but would be time consuming and boring
if you timber needs to uniform in size then a thicknesser it by far the easiest answer
