Common sense??
During the trial, the police officer had accepted he was "wrong" to have hit and pushed Mr Tomlinson.

He said had he realised at the time Mr Tomlinson was walking away from police lines, he "would not have gone near him".

Hmmmm Takes a real stretch of the imagination to believe that someone with their back to you would be walking towards you.
Not a good verdict. I sincerely hope Harwood will now be forced out of the MET.

He said, had he realised...which he didnt.

A court of law has found him not guilty of manslaughter....time to move on.

I think I've made a few pertinent points though. Just a shame Ian Tomlinson can't ever "move on" following the cowardly attack by this thug in uniform.

Disappointed with the outcome but he has been cleared by his peers so that should be and end of it. Doesn't matter what my view on the incident is, as there were more on the jury with a differing opinion which has found him innocent.

Despite hundreds of deaths, not a single cop has been convicted of manslaughter in the line of duty since 1986...

That is the sort of statistic that gave carte blanche to this thug, and also why the police will continue to act with impunity in the future...

Mind you, given the other acquittals today ( Link ), I'm just wondering what the reaction of Drama Queen will be.... ;)

Maybe something to do with the fact that there was no reason to even charge a police officer

In the past 12 years, almost 340 people have died in police custody. Prosecution recomended investigating 13 officers over 12 years.

Maybe something to do with evidence going 'missing', collusion, corruption, and a legal system weighted in favour of those charged with running our police state?

Before you tarnish Britain as a police state you should try living in Germany for a few years, unfortunatly we get the occaisional rotten apple but by and large i think our police men and women could be a lot worst.
