Very tiny new immersion heater element needed.

Its only been in couple of weeks, its leaking under the large nut I put ptf tape round the threads but nothing on the gasket

Take it out again and remove ptfe tape. Not needed.

Put nothing on the gasket. Nothing needed.
Make sure surfaces are clean and smooth.

Tighten up and test. Extra tweek up if weepy.

I must be doing something wrong then! I always apply a jointing compound to immersion elements. Always seems to work for me with no "tiny leaks" or any leaks to be fair. Then again I'm by no means a plumber!

compond on immersion heaters makes it a nightmare for other plumbers.
standard fiber washer is all that is needed.

Actually it helps a lot to put silicone grease on the washer and on the thread.

I've always put a tiny amount of silicone sealant on the washer only, I've never had any problems getting them out?
