F*ck you, Uncle Sam...

If someone hacks a computer on the other side of the world, surely the crime of hacking occurred in THAT country not the hackers.

It wouldn't be a crime of hacking until the 'victim' was successfully hacked. Therefore the completed offence happened over there.

I know what I mean, If no one else does :D

What if he is using a telnet session?

What difference does that make???

So if a British person is sitting in front of a computer in the UK, accessing a server in America to control a drone that kills civilians in Pakistan, where is the crime committed?

A highly intellectual response. Not.

Not at all . I am very very cyber litterate.
Know why I know so much about this subject ??
US tried the same on with me .
Brit justice system said 'not in the public interest' -request denied.
So there you go buddy.
I know far more than you will ever know on this subject.
Now crawl back into your hole please and go think of another insult to throw at anyone you can find .

ps- I wont be going to USA anytime soon though.
Thanks for the laugh...

Edit: How come you removed the content in your original post?....

Well Peter appears to have admitted to behavour which the US authorities felt was serious enough to request his extradition. The US don't try to extradite you because you haven't paid your speeding ticket, it's got to be something worse than that, in fact it's got to be quite serious.

Very few of them so shouldn't be too hard to work out what he was accused of, sounds like computer crime. What was it Peter?

I will have to remember that one!
It can get even more complicated...

What if someone on the ground in Afghanistan calls up 'a British person sitting in front of a computer in the UK, accessing a server in America to control a drone that kills civilians in Pakistan'

Now where is the crime committed?...

IMO the whole prosecution process in the internet age needs completely re-writing...

Otherwise in the same way that a company can choose to file its accounts in a country that is most advantageous financially, justice in the future will be meted out where it is most convenient/harsh irrespective of the facts of the case...

In recent times it probably started with 'extraordinary rendition'...

We should in fact call that kidnapping...

So if we allow this to carry on it will become 'ordinary rendition' - or ordinary (legalised) kidnapping!

It is a very 'Grey/Gray' area .
You have to realise that there is a vast cultural difference betweem Americans and Brits--despite lots of people here and there thinking we are the same .
Some things that seem serious in USA are not considered so serious here .
You have to have spent a lot of time there (Like I have) to understand.
Besides that- the Americans cant even agree the Law between themselves ie: different rules in different states .
JimmySavile would have been ok if he had lived in certain states over there where they marry at 14 years old . (it may have changed recently though).
Americans always make a drama out of nothing . AWSOME !! ETC.

That's for me to know and you to 'lose sleep' over.
But- suffice it to say ' it was not anything you suggested.
UK law saw it in a different light .
Glad it made you laugh though .

Good point, last night you mentioned you were also wanted for deportation and won't be visiting the US "any time soon".

Did you let the stella fairies take over your fingers last night?

I suggested nothing save your cyber illiteracy - which given your deletion of your earlier b*llshit post seems to be true..

I won't 'lose sleep', but maybe you'd like to enlighten us anyway...
