Having a meter moved question

Because its going to be PME is it good practice to join the earth and Neutral on the switch side of the 80amp switch?

Questions like that make it impossible for you to be honest when you sign a document with these words

having exercised reasonable skill and care when carrying out the design,

Why do you get so annoyed with people who are trying to educate you as to how to do the work safely and properly.

You got advice.

It just wasn't the advice you thought you should get, that's all.

Here we go

Wish you would.

I would be looking to install 16mm² Split Concentric if possible - Choose a suitable route. Far easier and quicker to install, and no glands required at your MK moulded CU. Insulated 80amp switch fuse at origin, in an external cabinet, or ssomewhereclose to the meter on the inner leaf of the wall.

I would also look at your main protective bonding too to make sure this is compliant.

Note how I included a ² with my 16mm² - Didn't want MonkeyFingers misconstruing, thinking I was talking about a cable of 16mm diameter.

If that route has concealed cable it will need RCD protection - split-con is not exempt from that, whereas SWA is.

Might be an important deciding factor.

Exactly why I said "Choose a suitable route". As he is adding this after the build, it is unlikely to be concealed inside a wall.

Harry - I think you will find that this is actually a useful comment, or question for you to answer:

Read this, and explain how you could justifiably sign it.
