was speaking to a guy who said he gets extra for being diagnosed with some sort of mental condition.
He gets arrested once a month acts like a loon police doctor agrees and paperwork saying so.
He said its a pain in the arse but the money is worth it

you are simply assuming they are all fraudulent

Numbers vary wildly as the statistics are so screwed up in so many ways by vested interests.

I'm not going to waste my time linking to anything, but last I looked into it there was about 500k to 1 million people permanently unemployed (more than 2 years).

When they did the disability check trials, something like 60% didn't bother to turn up (and yes I know the checks have since turned out to be full of faults but this is before those were known).

So there is clearly a lot of fishy work going on, and then there is my anecdotal experiences of plenty of people simply not bothering to work harder, because they get cheap social housing and various tax credits.

its farcical they have downs syndrome

60k in the UK have downs syndrome, statistically irrelevant to the discussion.

And people say thatcher is the one that destroyed family values.
No - she encouraged Victorian Family values - but then shut all the Workhouses and Asylums , they were central to Victorian altruism

I know a guy on jsa who's also an alcoholic. He gets an extra £80 quid per week just because he's got a drink problem.

I don't believe that and challenge you to provide factual evidence backed up from the DWP.

You do know you can get put on disability/incapacity (higher payments than JSA) for being an alcoholic or drug user, this isn't exactly a secret and has cost billions of pounds in welfare.

Going back some 15 years in my local, an ex miner alcoholic I knew showed us
some coupons that he was issued with from the DSS. To get bottled Guiness from the local off licence.
His alcoholism killed him a while back in his late thirties.

Then if you're on disability or incapacity benefit your not on JSA you can only claim one primary benefit
Income support/Incapacity Benefit/Job seekers allowance.

Pedantics are out again, either way you are being given more money than on JSA for drinking/drugging up.
