Hi I am new here and have just bought a Logik lchobtc10 hob and want to fit a double oven underneath but the installation instructions state a 5cm gap under the hob which means the oven will not fit in a standard carcass....Currys are useless and very unhelpful I see hobs displayed with ovens below so something seems awray with this gap or hob !!!!

Is this 5cm gap normal for elec hobs or have I got this wrong.
help and advice please

also can I connect into the existing 6mm cable and upgrade the 32Ma fuse to a higher rating

Are you sure it's centimetres?

Not millimetres?

Yep thats what through me I thought at first it was a typo, it says 5mm gap between the worktop and front of the unit and 5cm from the underside of the hob to the top of whatever is below it....the instructions are not very clear and is in drawing form.

would it help if I posted the drawing on here tho not quite sure how to do that

Not really.

Is the top of the body of the oven perhaps 45mm. lower than the top of the front panel?

No to get the 5cm gap between the bottom of the hob and the top of the oven body I would have to lower the oven so it would be situated within the plinth area and be out of line with the tops and bottoms of the kitchen units

Now to me that looks like the space over a cupboard. Its the one to the side with 65mm from hob to top of oven you should be looking at. I may have that wrong.

The 65cm is the distance from the hob to the extractor or cupboard above it

how does the heat resistant board fit into the equation

Eeee! Blind Bugger Me!!!

That would definitely be to stop heat passing down, especially if over a cupboard unit.
