Does anyone still fill the bath with water before they tile .I haven't tiled a bathroom for a long time but this was how I was taught, I am a confident tiler and was wandering if it is necessary to do this now.

Is the bath just been fitted.....then yes fill with water seal and leave...

So it's still same principle tile leaving 3mm gap from bath fill gap with silicon and let water out when done, Also it's handy to have a "Tub" full of water handy for the cleaning of hands and such

When fitting the bath you will fix bath brackets to wall and use 2x2 and as strapping under the bath along the walls...

Then seal around said bath with a very good quality silicone...fill bath all the way up...this way you can also check the overflow for any leak...
Then leave bath overnight ...if you have small kids in house then extra carefull..you don't want them in the bathroom...

Next morning pull the plug....tile away..leave as you say 2/3mm gap then seal with silicone..
