Well i have 3 of these combi boilers all fitted in 2008. 1 was exchanged in 2011 due to a novice numpty engineer who did an alteration and the boiler melted (same day).
phew.
Thanks for clearing that up. My manual lists d5, d8 and d9, but all I have ever seen are 5 and 8. A quick check of the original on-line Dutch manuals shows that they are mis-translations. They should be: "05", "08" and "09".The installation manual supplied with the boilers is not that accurate and the internet manual is different from the original paper manual.
So my manuals say 8 and the internet (revised manual) says d8 but all 3 of my boilers will just show 8 when the user sets a low heating temperature,
Hi I 'm not a heating engineer - no idea about your problem.
I just wanted to share some advice - which might be irrelevant anyway, in this case.
It can work out to pay Heat Team to do the repair and sign up to their 12 month thing. I can't remember the details so check wih them but I think that covers all parts and labour on as many call outs as you want... within the period. For £250, payable in instalment £25 per month.
OK it may be cheaper to have a local engineer come ot and replace one part but if several parts are replaced and several call outs it can quickly mount up - and you can pay heat team in instalments - that's always nice!
You know Heat team, cover this product, Baxi etc...
