Well, all I'm going to say is that I suggest you put together a thesis and send it to all the alarm manufacturers explaining how wrong all there equipment is, you'd make a fortune, not.

There is alarm equipment out there that you have not even dreamed about.

The Yale equipment is Grade 1. ( DiY )

You say, "It's in the same price band as grade 2 wireless alarms like the Pyronix Enforcer and Texecom gear now, yet seems to be much less capable. I don't think consumers are aware of this"

That is just business on behalf of Yale. If they can get it, they will.

There is such a difference between Yale and professional equipment.

Ever read all the manufacturing and installation EN Standards, nah.

ps

I do now believe they now make a Grade 2 system though, not seen any paperwork yet.

Some of them have started engaging with me on issues in their systems

I get contract work doing reverse engineering.

Like what? It's so secret that it's not mentioned anywhere outside the elite few?

If it's that secret the security is bound to be awful - secrecy, closed systems and lack of third-party pen testing is why they have all these flaws.

Is it? I can't see anything to say it is any grade.

You say, "It's in the same price band as grade 2 wireless alarms like the Pyronix Enforcer and Texecom gear now, yet seems to be much less capable. I don't think consumers are aware of this"

That is just business on behalf of Yale. If they can get it, they will.

So there is nothing wrong with making people aware that the Yale equipment is much less secure.

Ever read all the manufacturing and installation EN Standards, nah.

Why?

You are wasting your time . These posts on here are not read by THE POPULATION.. They are read by a few people wanting to install their own alarms.

If you really want to make a difference then buy a Yale system , install it and then get burgled and sue yale for providing a product 'not fit for purpose'.

You may or may not win the case because the judge may decide that it is working in a suitable manner for a budget based DIY product. It may be tested in different scenarios where in most cases it works perfectly well.
If you do win the case you might find Yale are forced to modify their product or withdraw it from the market.

The real reason you will fail though is because some people will only have £150 to spend on an alarm and £700 for a professionally installed one well may be out of their reach.

Not only that if Yale alarms were so easily defeated the word would have got round LONG before you felt the need to spout.

Sorry, I don't understand your point. Is this meant to contradict something I have said? I came here because my blog was linked to from PMs.

I'm trying to work out if you are being facetious or serious. If serious, I don't really see any point continuing a discussion because you've taken leave of your senses.

Not only that if Yale alarms were so easily defeated the word would have got round LONG before you felt the need to spout.

Once again, this really odd attitude that because it hasn't happened in the past, it never will in the future. It's a really limiting school of thought.

The poster is saying all wireless systems are toot including your graded systems and then spreading information about their vunerabilities.

Europlex understands the issue here , you are missing the point.

Everything being said applies to ALL wireless systems and presuming you have fitted some you too should be taking the same stance as Europlex.

You can understand why people think you are confused when you send out mixed opinions.

So please tell us why are you so against vulnerability disclosure?

A major diatribe was all about Honeywell systems...

I will ask the question again, what diatribe are you referring too?
