A friend has a deep inspection chamber about 2000 to the invert.

About 500 down is his electricity supply cable crossing a corner with about 450 of cable inside the chamber.

House looks like 1938 and as if it was built like that!

I was wondering which regulations it infringes!

You forgot to mention their ethnicity. ...

He is English and his wife is Iranian!

The building control Inspector is Iranian too.

On last visit he was asking about the G3 in respect of his two 500 li thermal stores!

Thats an interesting question! The relevant Building regs are those that applied when the original application was made.

The G3/G4 regulations from 2001 apply in this case. But now the revised G3 have incorporated the G4 but dont apply in this case due to dates.

In any case the G3/G4 regulations only apply UP to 500 litres and he says 500 litre thermal stores are outside the regulations because they are larger.

He also thinks that two 500 litre stores equate to 1000 litres otherwise people would use two smaller stores to bypass regs.

When this posting is all about plumbing/drainage I wonder why a mad Mod has moved it into the electrics section ???
