Dinner lady sacked.

A mistake joyfully met with the PC brigade... jeez the kid never even ate it and it was not the school that sacked her but lunchtime uk... I would take them to a tribunal saying that she had no training and there was no instructions with the pork, petty I know but tit for tat

If you read the article, the child actually asked for it. She served what the child asked for. The headmaster then noticed what the child had on her plate and "whisked it away" . In reality, the child is at fault for asking for non halal meat. Surely the fault of her parents then? ;) ;)

I agree with Joe on this.. (!)

Boss White's "opinion" that the dinner lady knew what she was doing is irrelavent ! That's not a fact mate !!

And, Islam is NOT A RACE !! therefore if you insult a muslim, YOU'RE NOT A RACIST !!!!

And a child that age should not be labelled and restricted by a religion. But that child should be encouraged to have an amazing journey of fun, wonderment and education, irrespective of their cultural roots.

And finally if it were me serving that food, I'm an atheist, so I don't recognise any religion or it's perculiarities...... why should I?

The more I hear about such events, the more I think this country is becoming like Nazi Germany or Communist Russia.

I fully expect to see the Thought Police established in this country, even if several decades later than predicted by Orwell.

She needs to go to a tribunal; somewhere where the case can be discussed by non-PC authorities (if there are still such things).

How would things be now if Adolf had won?

I think why did all our brave men and women die in the last war? Was it for the Great Britain we now have?

In her shoes I'd pursue a claim against the school. The 'did it before' thing is irrelevant. Did what before - served food? If pupils choose to eat certain foods (or not) how can that be somebody else's responsibility?

It's absurd !! can you imagine a woman, unwittingly saying to a femail colleague "oh he's hot isn't he?" and the colleague is a lesbian? would it end in a tribunal?

Or a builder pulling up at a site with a MVFC sticker on his van, and the site is mainly CBFC fans? sackings?

The school's decision is so wrong it's anti-cohesive...

Pandering to religious/political groups is wrong in this modern era !!!

Taking this a step further, if they don't want bangers & mash like the rest of the kids then let them either pay extra or bring their own!

No no no !!! you don't go to Japan and try to ban sushi !!! or get offended by it !!

It's just basic respect in my book !!

When in Japan yes but we're in the UK, why do we have to bend over backwards to feed them what they want?

Whoops, sorry Pred, I misread the post..... I agree with what your saying.... we are English, eat an English diet, or make your own provision !!!

if a school look upon this as gross misconduct there should be systems in place that remove the problem as in colour badges barcoded readable apps ect that prompt the operator as to whats required
the system must take the blame as the human brain cannot operate in predictable way 100% off the time
for someone to make the same mistake twice in the school year can still be 99% accurate at everything else

its a typical scenario where underinvestment is blamed on the progressively over worked and underpaid employees to inflate profits

If they want us all to live in harmony in this country, they need to stop acting (over re-acting in this case) in such a provocative manner. Having read the article, it sounds like 'the ni**er in the woodpile' in this instance was the head teacher. Typical bloody teachers!
