Obviously lessons have not been learnt from baby P

Horrendous! The little boy was going to school with black eyes and bruising and was eating food from the bins and off the floor. There really is no excuse for this one. It was blatantly obvious that something was seriously wrong but still no one helped him.

Social services can do only so much, though certainly there where failings here.

The real failing is society, there is no replacement for a community that can look after each other, immigrants have less of a chance to be a part of the community.

Not surprising ,the council has a majority immigrant work force, i.e, non white English. Disorder and crazy appeasement has rendered it a money pit. Sad it is , a mother a step dad and a monumental financial bill. What's going to happen when these eastern Europeans are released.

Yeah i got that impression too, especially when the childs' mother wanted a moments peace and quiet.

Rather than take him round to grannys house which was impossible as she is in Poland, she removed the door handles from his bedroom door, put him an icy cold bath, beat him unconscious, starved him then locked him in his room so that he could defecate in his own bed.

Yeah, thats typical behavior of those who have no choice if they want a bit of peace and quiet, eh?

Not part of the community my erse. Those two selfish inhuman basturds are evil horrific pieces of scum that had no feelings for that boy whatsoever.
I get so depressed reading these stories, it is heartbreaking.

Nor Victoria Climbie before him.

But there are countless others that are reported by forgotten:

As an electrician, let me put an electrical spin on this. For those that know the regs, I don't want to get into a huge debate about the finer details (forget harmonisation with Europe, for example).

The regs have evolved from the 1st Ed. to the 17th with obviously a great many changes along the way. The organisation (IEE/IET) has realised down the years that there are better, safer ways of doing things.

And the rules have changed to reflect that.

There must be nationally recognised "regs" for social workers that are updated regularly and training courses that all social workers have to go on?

It's not beyond the wit of (wo)man to set in place a system not unlike Gas Safe where cards are carried by all who work in the industry and regulation is tightly controlled.

Surely if this child was at school, it was registered with the authorities, therefore any concerns raised by teachers etc would result in social services getting involved (as had seemed to be the case)... therefore, why didn't social services go into the home and check that the boy was fit and well, and had a decent place to sleep i.e not a room with a p155 stained mattress and nothing else, and no handle on the inside of the door?

This type of case beggars belief.... the SS staff looking at this child should consider downing a bottle of paracetomol washed down with a bottle of vodka !! That poor defenceless child !

So it wasn't the fault of the parents then? It has to be societies fault?

If the parents had been British that poor kid would have been taken away from them at the first sign of problems.
The pc tw*ts who could have helped but didn't want to be seen to be anti immigrant can share the blame.

You do like acting simple and putting words into peoples' mouths Joe.
Of course it would appear (let the courts be definitive about this) that the parents caused the death, but my post was a criticism of a system whereby the signs should've been spotted very quickly, followed up and the poor baby made safe early into this heinous episode.

A moot point Sooey because baby P's mother was born in Leicester !!
