"Eid" Festivities

However, even within that context, the vast majority of those who wish to celebrate Eid are doing so in peace, personal reflection and a sense of happiness.

Never really seen them happy about anything. Are they having a break in hostilities?

As such, as stated previously, it seems rude not to wish them every happiness over the next couple of days.

Whilst you're busy wishing the practitioners of The UK's soon to be new, national religion, our self-appointed, lefty guardians of everything pc are erasing all traces of our religious festivals. Hope you get a 'Happy Winterval' card from your new friends.

Anyway, the reason why "our" religious festivals are being increasingly phased out is the increasing apathy and decline in congregations. There are numerous examples across history of pagan and minority religions disappearing along with their ceremonies and fesitvals. So, if you want to reverse the trend, you'd better start persuading a fair few number to start getting togged upon a Sunday and make their way to church.

It's a pretty simple supply and demand situation really

Complete bull. There are still more Christaians than any other religion in this country, and the vast majority of people, whether Christian or not, celebrate Christmas.

It's just some trots who work in councils and public services sucking up to minorities. They're on some big gulit-trip and are trying to agitate against anything seen as white, Anglo Saxon traditions.

I'm happy to concede the majority figure, but the trend is there.

the trouble is in the "Christian or not" bit.

there might be more christians etc for now, but christians are inert. In Britain, islam is like a lone shark in a sea of christian fish.... eventually the shark will prevail.

Grasshopper

Dex, surely if you wish some people a "happy eid", then surely you're discriminating against all the other religions (about 3000? recognised religions?) by not wishing them a happy this or happy that?

It's the pandering to islam by non muslims that annoys me, because if you draw a cartoon about their god, they'll go fookin' apesh1te !!!!!!!

Celebrating my skin eid, as my skull will be split open next month. :D

I wish anyone who celebrates their lives, struggles and beliefs a happy day providing their views are of peace and basically live and let live. The vast majority of the vast majority of people hold the same view and we spend too long worrying over a tiny tiny tiny minority.
