Is it ok to put a 22/15mm reducer straight in to a 22mm compression. Is there enough 22mm pipe for the olive to bite up to?

If the shoulder of the reducer is not within the olive when its fully seated then it will be OK

When you push the reducer into the fitting, pull it out just a Little so that the shoulder is just past the nut

Yup, I was thinking that way too but it could be either I suppose.

If it is an end feed reducer then make sure the shoulder, top arrow, is out beyond the end of the compression nut, lower arrow. that way olive will be centered on the 22mm sized area ( guess what bit :P)
