Potterton puma 80 - Diverter valve change - Washers / PTFE?

Hi, I'm about to change the complete diverter valve on a potterton puma 80e. I have a set of correct size fibre washers for the job.

Is it worth using PTFE tape on the threads as well, or is this overkill or likely to cause problems?

Tape on threads of a washered joint is pointless.

PTFE on a washered joint will acheive nothing. The seal is made by the washer not the thread.
