Looking for a 'good' consumer unit.

Who makes the best quality ones now days, with good access, space etc?

Cheers.

This has been discussed to death many times.

The conclusion is to leave the choice to the electrician that is doing the work.

Hi

I'd thought I'd ask as things seem to change quite often. I'll be doing the work hence myself asking.

To run everything off RCBOs is going to cost a bomb. I'd go for the usual spilt on 2 RCDs then maybe a couple of circuits of RCBOs.

TBH you'd probably only what a shower(maybe) and outdoor electrics on RCBOs. I'd stick the rest on as normal. Most houses I know only need up to a 10 way board. Im having a 16 way Hager fitted just for future expansion but not really sure its needed.

Hager / Schneider are the best boards.

All RCBO doesn't really cost all that much if you're on good terms with your wholesaler, and I'd much rather do the job once and do it right.

An all-RCBO board, made by Hager, total luxury.

If you can afford all-RCBOs, then go ahead. It is a far superior job, where nusiance tripping is concerned.
