Falluja, Mosul, and now Tikrit under ISIS control !

So much for Iraq being a better place without Saddam...

All that Blair and Bush achieved through their war crimes is to strengthen the Islamic fundamentalist influence in the Middle East...

How long before Israel feels threatened enough to light the touchpaper?

What are the chances of Bliar ever being put before a war crimes court?

Slim I would think.
The establishment will protect him plus his wife knows the law too well.
And also I expect he changed enough laws whilst in power to make himself about as accountable as a church mouse.
And of course any incriminating evidence will have seen the shredder and be land fill by this stage.

But we all live in hope eh?

From the Iraq Family Health Survey its estimated 151,000 violent deaths since 03.
That's enough evidence alone to nail him imo.

Let's just turn that around a bit..... How long before Israel is attacked/provoked enough to retaliate (Bit of a difference there now) ;)

And how long before another of our self-serving politicians decides that we should poke our noses in again?

Of course Israel never commits preemptive attacks or colonisation? Or does it?

So not much difference at all of course...

Mind you the besieged ones in Gaza (who are btw mostly moderate compared with ISIS) might well join the fundamentalist bandwagon en masse if they see it as a way out of their hell-hole..

Mind you we can take heart in the fact that we can still always refer the problem back to the middle east 'peace' envoy - whoever that is ;)

It seems the peoples of Falluja and Mosul are fleeing, not from the fundamentalists, but from the threat of Iraqi air strikes

I've always seen Israel as a tiny state besieged on all sides by angry arabs who now think the world owes them the entire planet for some reason.
I think the land masses is few percent for the Israelis and the rest arab.

Their conflict reminds me of Drumcree here in the province.
Never any trouble until outside influences had to stick their nasty noses in.

Republicans goal in Ireland is to grab all the land back from the protestants north and south. That's 110% what they strive for.
We live in a republican area and yet 95% of our work comes from the loyal unionist Ulsterman. In tough times you learn who butters your bread and it sure ain't the enemy.

Back in the nineties mates and me on the building site would open up with big air compressor jack hammers as though they were heavy machine guns spraying our catholic mates. They took it well as they knew it was just pent up frustration and of course just a bit off a lark.
At the end of the day if we were given the weapons we would kick them to kingdom come and back again just like the Israelis.
They were winning at the end of the day with their battle of attrition and then bliar handed it over. For that act alone he should be jailed for treason.
God save the Queen.

Really?

But whatever the cause, is Iraq any better off now than before the illegal invasion?

But hey all is not lost...

Syrias Bashar al-Assad has said he'll come to the rescue

Maybe we'll now have to about turn and support his regime now?

This is of course even before we add Iran into the mix

When the USA/UK f uck things up we sure do a complete job of it!

Me too, and I have every admiration for the Israelis for that very reason. Despite being surrounded and heavily outnumbered, they have shown time and again that they will stand up for themselves. Good for them.

Totally agree the Iraq invasion by the west was illegal. Also agree the whole region is still a cess pit of violence and death. Let's not pretend though that this area of the world would be a haven of peace and tranquility otherwise.
The muslim countries of the planet are mainly pooholes of dark aged violence. Even the oil rich area's that have a smooth blingly sheen are still repressive and evil. It wasn't the USA or her allies that f u cked up that region. It was/is backwards people who worship pretend beings called alla and mohammed.
