Replacing damaged floor - chipboard

Hi all.
We are decorating our bedroom and the floor is a mishmash of chipboard flooring that has been cut to allow for wiring leaving a mixture of small, thin, weak strips right where we need to walk. I know it's weak as it's cracked twice. What material would be the best to replace these "crazy paved" areas?
I'm guessing chipboard but the only type I can find that's "flooring" is t&g and the rest of the floor isn't..

That's the trouble with chipboard flooring. A bit of use and abuse and it's fit for the skip.

However, replacing it with the same thickness is the important bit. No reason why you can't cut off any tongues that would otherwise butt up against the floor that you're keeping. Just make sure that any joins that run parallel to the joists are over a joist.

I support any other joints with 2x1 below the join.

Use screws, not nails.

It is probably 18mm

You can replace with ply which is a much better material.

Don't just do tiny patches, the more old chipboard you rip up and throw away, the better.

Support all cut edges and joins with battens fixed to the joists.

Agree, use screws not nails.
